Hummus

Ingredients

·  1/3 cup olive oil

·  1/3 cup lemon juice

·  Dash of salt

·  Garlic to taste—2-10 cloves

·  Flavor ingredient (e.g. jalapenos, sun dried tomato, bell pepper), optional

·  1 1/2 cup or 1 can chick peas (garbanzo beans)

·  3 T Tahini (seasame seed paste) - usually in the international isle 

 

Preparation

· Blend olive oil, lemon juice, salt, garlic and flavor ingredient.

· Add chick peas and tahini and blend until smooth.  Depending on blender this step can take a minute or two.  Blend, stir with spatula, and blend again. 

· Pour into serving dish and enjoy on veggies, lettuce wraps, or as a condiment
